Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. This year, instead of running out to the store at the last minute and picking up a generic gift of chocolate and flowers select one of these gifts with a little more meaning. Read More
Happy December, Friends!
I feel like I say this every year but really…I can’t believe it’s almost time to ring in the new year! 2017 has been really good to me and I can’t wait to see what 2018 brings.
Today, I wanted to share with you a great gift idea for yourself or someone you love, the She Reads Truth Bible. I was given this Bible to review for B&H Publishing by FrontGate Media. While I was given the Bible for free –all thoughts and opinions are my own.
The She Reads Truth Bible aims to live at the intersection of beauty, goodness, and Truth. Featuring devotionals by the She Reads Truth team, and Scripture reading plans that include supplemental passages for deeper understanding, this Bible invites every woman to count themselves among the She Reads Truth community of “Women in the Word of God every day.” The She Reads Truth Bible also features 66 key verses, artfully lettered to aid in Scripture memorization.
Features include: almost 200 devotionals, 66 artist-designed key verses, 35 full-color timelines, 20 full-color maps, 11 full-color charts, reading plans for every book of the Bible, one-year Bible reading plan, detailed book introductions, key verse list, carefully curated topical index, smyth-sewn binding, two colored ribbon markers, and wide margins for journaling and note-taking.
I love the reading plans and supplemental verses to support chapters in the Bible. It provides additional background knowledge and really ties things together.
My only complaint about the Bible is that it is pretty heavy—because of all the additional content included. I don’t think this is a Bible I would travel with or take with me to church, this would be my home study Bible.
I really am looking forward to using this Bible more. I feel like I have only begun to get a glimpse as to all the amazing features. This would be an awesome gift for yourself or someone else on your Christmas list 🙂 To purchase, visit http://shereadstruthbible.com.

Well, this post has been a long time coming! A lot has changed at our home since we closed in April. Just a refresher….this is what it looked like before …
One of the things we miss most about living in West Michigan is the easy access to Lake Michigan. It was so nice being able to hop in the car and be at the lake in under an hour.
While we don’t have a “great” lake in our backyard any longer we have found some alternatives that get us on the water and are a ton of fun in the Metro Detroit area. Read More
Those who know me well know that one of my favorite stores to shop at is TJ Maxx.
Seriously it is my happy place.
I love that I can find really cute stuff for a fraction of the cost of department stores. It’s very hard for me to purchase clothes at other stores because I know I can find something very similar for much cheaper! Read More
I just recently upgraded to the iPhone 7 plus and I love it.
With a new phone came the need for a new phone case! Read More
I’ve been thinking a lot about the pursuit of perfection lately. Specifically, the role that social media plays in my life. I have always enjoyed taking a peek into people’s lives via their social media account. For the most part, I would say I have a healthy relationship with it. I am able to separate what’s real and what is not fairly easily but I do find myself sometimes comparing my life to others. Read More
It’s been a whirlwind few weeks. As most of you know, we were in Denmark and Norway (trip was amazing, post coming soon) all last week. We got back to the states on Sunday afternoon and ever since then I feel like I’ve just been sprinting from task to task.

After graduating college I felt like my life had a clear path. Teaching is one of the only careers that you can actually major in and know exactly what you are going to do for potentially the rest of your life.
I was fortunate to get a job right after graduating and taught special education for three years in Otsego, Michigan. I enjoyed my job, my coworkers, and loved living with and near friends in Grand Rapids.
Prior to getting engaged I remember thinking “once I’m engaged-everything will be great-my life will finally start”. Read More
