It’s March! Spring is just around the corner, right? Then why does it still feel like winter in Ann Arbor?
Here are my book recommendations for the month of March–happy reading!
1. The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty.
This is the same author of Big Little Lies which was one of my February book recommendations. The Husband’s Secret is a fast moving novel about a secret that has affected three different women. It takes a few twists throughout the book but I found it to be entertaining and fun.
2. Why not me? By Mindy Kaling
Mindy Kaling has such a talent for writing exactly the way she talks–which I love because I think she is hilarious! Mindy’s book is a series of essays in which she talks about navigating adulthood, romance, and her career. If you loved her in the office or on the Mindy Project this book is a must read.
3. Defending Jacob by William Landay
This was one of my “beach reads” on our honeymoon. I was out of books and was frantically searching for something I could get as an e-reader on my iPhone. This book was a pleasant surprise! Like I have said before, I love true crime and stories involving court cases and the legal process. This book is about a district attorney whose son is accused of a violent murder. You are left questioning who to trust and what to believe throughout the story. It was extremely entertaining and perfect for a vacation read.
4. The Year of Living Danishly by Helen Russel
This book was a gift from my mother-in-law (thanks Dana!) at Christmas. The whole Harrison crew is headed to Denmark to visit Jeff’s brother, Andrew, in just a few weeks! This book was the perfect gift to get me excited about our trip and give me a tiny peek into what Denmark is like. This non-fiction book is about a woman whose husband gets a job at Lego in Denmark. Each chapter chronicles a different month in her journey to embrace a new life in Denmark and learn more about the culture. It was so interesting to hear about their government, culture, and way of life. It is funny, heartwarming, and eye-opening, overall a great read!
I hope you enjoy these four recommendations. Any book ideas for me? Please drop me a note in the comments 🙂
